ABEA Aditya Birla Education Academy
The Aditya Birla Education Trust has embarked on yet another journey in the field of education with the unveiling of the Aditya Birla Education Academy (ABEA). Offering professional development courses for educators and school administrators, the premier teacher training institute was launched on 23rd September 2018 at the Aditya Birla World Academy Auditorium in Mumbai.

Present at the event were ABEA Founder & Chairperson Mrs. Neerja Birla, CEO Ms. Surabhi Goel and Program Director Mr. Prodipta Hore. Esteemed faculty from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education including Dr. L. Micheal Golden (Executive Director – Catalyst), Dr. Betty Chandy (Director – VOLT & EXACT Program), Dr. Catrice Barrett (Facilitator – VOLT Program), and Ms. Lara Paparo (Associate Director – Penn Literacy Network) were also in attendance. Dr. Laurie Croft (Associate Director – Professional Development) and Dr. Devasena Desai (Consultant Psychologist, KGEC Pune) represented the Belin-Blank Center, University of Iowa College of Education at the launch.

The event witnessed a keynote address by Mrs. Neerja Birla where she spoke about the vision for ABEA and the larger interest of creating educators who are also lifelong learners. The Aditya Birla Education Academy is an attempt to nurture the aspirations of the brilliant and dedicated educators who nurture young minds. It is an opportunity for our educators to evolve with changing times, in order to impart new-age education that is on par with the best in the world. It is an attempt to bridge the gap between the existing standards of teaching and the emerging avant-garde ones.
Dr. Laurie Croft
Post the keynote, Dr. Laurie Croft had a short talk with the attendees about Gifted Education and its evolution in the USA. The course offered by the Belin- Blank Center is meant to aid educators in bringing out the true potential of a gifted student. Dr. L. Michael Golden also enlightened the audience about the importance and appropriate use of technology to further enhance learning in education. Their VOLT program will aid educators to inculcate and enhance their 21st century skills for their overall development.
