It seems that Shiv Sena’s Thane MLA, Pratap Sarnaik has got pretty fumed up on the jokes of a stand-up comedian Agrima Joshua to such an extent that he has demanded the arrest of the comedian. In Agrima’s one minute and seven-second video, she was heard making jokes on the Shivaji Maharaj’s statue which will be constructed in the Arabian Sea. The video, however, seemed old but was trending on social media again. Well, this is not the first time that standup comedians are being grilled for their roast.

After watching the whole video and listening to the jokes cracked by the stand-up comedian Agrima, Pratap Sarnaik got so furious that he wrote a letter to the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh requesting the comedian’s arrest.
Pratap Sarnaik said;
“Some comedian named Agrima Joshua has made contemptuous comments against Shivaji Maharaj while presenting her comedy. I saw the video and I don’t feel she has any respect for Shivaji Maharaj or it is possible that she doesn’t know who he is. I have also written to the Home Minister demanding her arrest.”
It could be easily seen that Pratap Sarnaik was in no mood to take the comedy of Agrima lightly and he insisted that Agrima Joshua should not use the name of Shivani Maharaj to earn money. Pratap also said that such comedy would not be tolerated at all by Mahila Aghadi and Maharastra Yuvati Sena.
Pratap Sarnaik also added;
“If you need you can take the information Maharaj from Shiv Bhakts. The Hindutva Janata will not tolerate this at all.”
Right after the comedian’s video went viral on the social media platform, it has been largely criticized by the people and many of them even took to social media to say that the content in the video is insulting the feelings of millions of Shivaji Maharaj’s followers across the whole world. Therefore, along with Pratap, many people demanded the arrest of Agrima Joshua.
Once the letter written to the Home Minister reached him, he said;
“I urge everyone to maintain calm and assure them that law will take its course. I have also instructed CP Mumbai and IG Cyber to take the necessary action against the same.”
Once the matter concerning to the comedian’s video reached the ears of Agrima Joshua, she took to social media and tweeted;
“I am sorry for having hurt the sentiments of many followers of the great leader Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. My heartfelt apologies to the followers of the great leader, whom I sincerely respect. The video has already been taken down. Please amplify.”

Despite the sincere apology by the standup comedian Agrima Joshua, it seems that people are still choosing to humiliate the comedian. It was just yesterday that a man from Gujrat was arrested by the Vadodara Police as he was sending rape threats to Agrima Joshua.
It was later revealed that the video of Agrima which is was going viral on the social media was a small part of the comedian’s show at a cafe located in Khar. It was after the video went viral that the details of the hotel and its staff members were also leaked and some people also barged in to the hotel and caused damages.
