1. Drishyam

Drishyam is a powerful edge-of-the-seat thriller with outstanding performances by Ajay Devgn and Tabbu. This Indian Hindi-language thriller film is directed by Nishikant Kamat. 

Drishyam (2015 film) revolves around an ordinary person Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) and his family who encounter with a police personnel Meera Deshmukh (Tabbu). Meera suspects Vijay and his family  behind her son’s abduction. Throughout the movie, Vijay is seen figuring ways for saving his family from this situation and he finally manages to do so. 

This movie got released in India on 31 July 2015. Drishyam (2015 movie) is a remake of 2013 Malayalam language film with the same title. Drishyam is a suspense drama that has a riveting finale.

2. Titli

Titli, released in India under the banner of Yash Raj Films on 30 Oct 2015. Kanu Behl wrote and directed the film. The film stars Ranvir Shorey and Amit Sial as well as Shashank Arora, Lalit Behl, and Shivani Raghuvanshi, in the leading roles.

Titli is the story revolving around a man from a gangster family, who wants to set himself aside from his family expectations and start his life fresh. But over the turn his family got him married so as to introduce a woman into the gang to be used as a decoy and cover. Summed with every emotion, this movie gives a dark shade of the society and more questions to think of. 

3. Trapped

On 26 October 2016, Trapped was premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival.  And later was released in Indian theatres on 17 March, 2017. This film stars Rajkumar Rao and Geetanjali Thapa in the lead roles. 

Trapped revolves around a man named Shaurya (Rajkumar Rao), a call centre employee who wants to get marry with his girlfriend named Noorie (Geetanjali Thapa). But gets trapped in his apartment room without food, water, and electricity. 

At the 63rd Filmfare Awards, Trapped won several awards, including the Critics Award, Best Actor for Rajkumar Rao and Best Sound Design for Anish John. 

4. Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar

Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar was directed by Dibakar Banerjee and distributed by Yash Raj Films. Parineeti and Arjun Kapoor star in the lead roles. The film is about a pregnant lady Sandeep Kaur Walia, played by Parineeti Chopra, and a unknown cop driver Pinky (Arjun Kaoor), who are sent by their boss to almost get killed. Later in the story, circumstances force Sandeep to remain together with Pinky despite their mutual dislike. 

Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar was released on 19 March 2021 (after getting postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic)                                                                                                                                                          

5. Maqbool

Maqbool is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and was released on 30 January 2004. It is based on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth with the Mumbai underworld as its backdrop. This film stars Irrfan Khan as Miyan Maqbool, Tabbu as Nimmi, Pankaj Kapoor as Jahangir Khan, Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah as two corrupt policemen.

Maqbool was featured in the Marche du Film section of the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. It also received its North American premiere at 2003 Toronto International Film Festival.
