Bollywood dazzles at the ‘EMMY 2019 awards’, only Nawaz comes back with a win

EMMY 2019 awards: Bollywood is one of the most followed movie industries around the world. Not just in giving the most number of films every year it is also giving these numbers at the best of international standards. Now Bollywood is moving a step ahead by getting international recognition at prestigious award functions.

Very recently we got four nominations for the EMMY 2019 Awards. Among these nominations were Sacred Games for best drama, Radhika Apte as ‘best actress’ for Lust Stories, Lust Stories for best TV movie, and The Remix for best reality TV.

Bollywood went to attend the 47th annual award ceremony high on fashion quotient. Karan Johar, Radhika Apte, Anurag Kashyap, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Joya Akthar were in the fashion army.  All the members representing India posed together and some also flaunted their participation medals for their EMMY Nominations on social media.

The Australian thriller series Safe Harbour won the award for the movie/miniseries at the EMMY Awards Ceremony defeating the Indian series Lust Stories. However, the Indian celebrities who represented the Netflix film Lust Stories and the entire team of Sacred Games, made sure they had their moment at the event.

Unlike his colleagues, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who represented Sacred Games, did not come empty hand as his another show, McMafia won the Emmy for Best Drama Series. Nawazuddin played an Indian businessman named ‘Dilly Mahmood’ in the show. Among the winners were Game of Thrones for Outstanding Drama Series, Billy Porter (Pose) and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) won the Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress respectively.

The biggest gainer of the event will definitely be Amazon’sFleabag”. Fleabag which originally aired on the BBC but was co-produced and streamed internationally by Amazon did amazingly well, winning the big award for Best Comedy Series, as well as additional awards for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Writing for a Comedy Series and Directing for a Comedy Series.
