As it is seen that coronavirus pandemic has touched its height in India for a few months. During this pandemic, there was no vaccine in India to protect the people from being affected by this virus. As there was a tremendous rise in the number of people being affected by a coronavirus (COVID-19). To stop people from being affected, it has been decided to develop vaccines in our country to save people from this pandemic virus.
India’s first COVID-19 Vaccine ” COVAXIN” was launched by Bharat Biotech got the approval by DCGI for human trials. Human trials of the vaccine against Coronavirus will commence across India from July. This virus has killed many people i.e. 5,01,847 in the world.
COVAXIN- INDIA’S FIRST VACCINE
India reports 18,522 new cases, out of which 418 died in the last 24 hours. There are many vaccines all over the world including Russia, India, China, etc. Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, the chief scientist of WHO, assures that around 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be made by the end of next year. For many months there was no vaccine of this worst disease. Doctors were testing various types of medicines used in other diseases such as Malaria to save the life of people.
COVAXIN, India’s first indigenous vaccine for coronavirus was developed by Bharat Biotech COVID vaccine candidate at the Genome Valley Plant in Hyderabad. It is done with the collaboration of ICMR ( Indian Council Of Medical Research). The managing director of Bharat Biotech, Krishna Ella said:-

The SARS-COV-2 was isolated in the National Institute Of Virology (NIV), Pune, and was transferred to pharma Bharat Biotech. It declared that the drug controller of India- CDSCO, and ministry of health and family welfare have given permission to initiate phase I and II human trials. These trials are scheduled to start across India from July 2020 onward. The joint managing director Suchitra Ella said:-

Bharat Biotech’s record in the development of Vero cell culture platform technology has proved in several vaccines such as in polio, Rotavirus, rabies, chikungunya, and zike. It has been said that after using this vaccine it shows promising, extension safety, and effective immune responses. There are 18000 positive cases reported on Monday and the number of cases rises to 5,67,423. according to this, there are new guidelines of unlocking 2.0 till 31 July released by the Ministry Of Home Affairs.
