Earthquake in Assam: Tremors felt in Bangladesh Myanmar, Bhutan and China
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake have been reported in Assam’s Dhekiajuli at 5.54 pm, whose aftershocks felt in neighboring countries i.e. Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, China and Myanmar. Their is no casualty reported from any area, however the tremors were so strong in Guwahati’s Tezpur.
Recently few earthquakes reported from Delhi/NCR region and from quite some time these earthquakes are coming so frequently. The center of the earthquake was Tezpur area in Soniputra disctrict of Assam.
The earthquake was also felt in all neighboring countries of eastern parts of India. Recently an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude was also reported from Kohima around same time on 15th February and no casualties were reported then too.
The is nothing to be panic but these frequent shock have put people of this region tense. It is also important to know that we have not yet developed any measure to predict earthquakes well in time. If a big magnitude earthquakes hits this region, it will be more shocking. The devastating results of natural calamities we have recently experienced in Nandadevi glacier breakoff. The government agencies and NDRF teams should be put on high alert until the next monsoon season to ensure no big tragedy due to any natural occurrence.
