LATA MANGESHKAR: THE NIGHTINGALE
Lata Mangeshkar is an Indian playback singer and music director. Born on 28 September 1929(89). She is one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India. Thousands of songs recorded for Hindi films and songs sung in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, primarily in Marathi and Hindi.
LATA MANGESHKAR honored with National Award winner: Padma Bhushan on 1969 DadaSaheb Phalke Award on 1990 Padma Vibhushan on 1999 and Bharat Ratan award in 2001
LATA MANGESHKAR also honored with Filmfare awards for best playback singer in 1959, 1963 and 1966 for Tumhi Meri Mandir and in 1994 for Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, National Film Award for Best Female playback singer, Zee Cine Award for Best Playback Singer on 1998 for Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997).
