It seems Dream Girl, Hema Malini can become the CM of any state in a matter of minutes. Alas! She doesn’t want to take that responsibility. Before you think I am out of my mind, I would like to clarify that this is not my idea. Recently, the Mathura MP claimed that “If I want to, I can become that (chief minister) in a minute.”
Even though she didn’t specify where it probably means the CM of Uttar Pradesh. The post is currently being held by Yogi Adityanath.
Hema Malini spills the beans of her popularity
The 69-year old film star turned politician said so during an interview. No need to worry or get excited as she added that even though she can, she won’t. “I don’t like to be tied up. My freedom of movement will end,” she answered on being asked if she will take up the post in case an opportunity arises.
Hema Malini became a member of the parliament back in 2003. Her nomination to the parliament was made during the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She campaigned for BJP before joining the party in 2004.
Dream Girl also participated in the election of 2014. She further added that she will always be remembered as an actress and not a politician, “I am known mainly because of my name in Bollywood, call it ‘dream girl’ or Hema Malini.”
A calm lady turning into a fiery force
The lawmaker from Mathura has acted in over 200 films and performed in over 1000 shows around the world. She has also won a Padma Shri and is a trained classical dancer.
This statement seems to have stirred twitter as many people tried to take a jibe at her after her statement.
“It takes two minutes to cook Maggi noodles. But Hema Malini can become CM in 60seconds anytime if she intended to do so. I think, CM of the moon or dreamworld!!!” tweeted Wahid Iqbal.
Eventually, others started to compare her statement about becoming a CM in one minute with the two-minute Maggi noodles slogan.
A thread of funny tweets over her statement
“If she becomes CM of UP, She will clean Ganga within a day by using Kent Purifier.” Tweeted Himanshu Katiyaar.
She was also compared to Shivraj Singh Chauhan who claimed that during his visit to Washington DC he realised that the roads back in Madhya Pradesh is a lot better than that at the Washington airport.
“Hema Malini is giving tough competition to Shivraj Singh Chauhan!” tweeted Manoj Mehra.
Hema Malini slowly moved up the BJP hierarchy and in 2014 elections defeated then sitting lawmaker Jayant Chaudhary, son of Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh to take up the post.
During her interview, she also praised the prime minister of India Shree Narendra Modi saying that “he must be nurtured and listened to.” She also said that the PM has worked extensively to improve the condition of the poor and the farmers and the country has flourished under his leadership. She also told the media in Rajasthan that during her four-year tenure as the MP, she has contributed in making the roads of Mathura a lot better.
Hema Malini was in Banswara, Rajasthan for a performance at a religious function when she gave this interview to local news agency PTI.
