The government of India finally allowed universities and institutes to conduct annual examinations while adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.
Today central government shared the good news to give a green light for annual examinations to universities and institutes. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it said, “In a letter to the Union Higher Education Secretary, the Ministry of Home Affairs has permitted to conduct examinations by universities and institutes today.” According to the letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, final term examinations will be compulsory and conducted as per the UGC guidelines. Also, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Ministry of Health will applicable.
So far, several states including, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Haryana, had canceled the higher education exam and decided to promote the students based on previous demonstrations. Recently, the Gujarat government reversed within a few hours after announcing its decision to conduct the final year examination. On the other hand, the Rajasthan government also canceled undergraduate and postgraduate exams in all the universities of the state.

A day earlier, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had asked the University Grants Commission to ‘reconsider’ the academic calendar and guidelines issued in April.
The lockdown was implemented in the country from March 25 to control the corona epidemic. Various examinations conducted by universities and other educational institutions of the country deferred since March. During the unlock stages in the country, many activities have been allowed in all the areas except the Containment Zone; however, the regular operation of schools, colleges, universities, and other academic institutions has not started.
The students who was worried about there future due to the delayed annual examinations finally get some relief.
