But this has not happened for the first time, last year in April 2020 this linking deadline was extended to March 2021 considering the Covid pandemic situation. But even at present, this linking has yet again been post-ponded for the next three months. The last date to link Aadhar with PAN is now 30th June 2021.

Steps To Link Aadhar With PAN
You can link your PAN with Aadhaar by following process:
- Open The Income Tax e-filling portal by clicking on https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/. Fill in your details and move a step ahead.
- Register on it (if not already done). Your PAN (Permanent Account Number) will be your User ID.
- Log in by entering the User ID, password, and date of birth.
- A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to link your PAN with Aadhaar. If not, go to ‘Profile Settings’ on the Menu bar and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.
- Details such as name date of birth and gender will already be mentioned as per the PAN details.
- Verify the PAN details on the screen with the ones mentioned on your Aadhaar. Pls. note that if there is a mismatch, you need to get the same corrected in either of the documents.
- If the details match, enter your Aadhaar number and click on the “link now” button.
You’ve sucessfully linked your Aadhar with PAN.

Link Aadhar With PAN Via SMS
Income Tax Department allows you to get your Aadhar linked with PAN via SMS. All you need to do is send an SMS to 567678 or 56161 from your registered mobile number in the following format: UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><Space><10 digit PAN>.
