The vrat in Victorian Calendar typically falls in the month of May or June. According to Hindu Calender, the Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat happens to fall during Shukla Paksha of Jyeshta month. In most cases, it falls after Ganga Dussehra, and rarely there are cases where they tend to fall on the same day!
This year Nirjala Ekadashi vrat begins on the 23rd of June and ends on the 24th of June. T The time to observe ‘parana’ this year is between 1:46 p.m and 4.31 pm.

It is favorable to rise early in the morning and take bath in one of the holy rivers before they start fasting on an auspicious day. And this is when Vyasa advised Bhima to observe Nirjala Ekadashi vrat once a day in a year to compensate for all the other 23 Ekadashi vrats so as to please The Lord Vishnu.
