The PM health scheme would be free of discrimination. PM Narendra Modi quotes, “Sabka Sath, sabka Vikas.” This means that Ayushman Bharat will not focus on caste, status or religion, it will be for all and people can take benefit of it from whichever state they are in.

The process for registration

The PM health scheme does not require any registration. A toll-free number has been launched by the Prime minister, i.e. 14555 for the general public to know more about the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Briefly, the PM has decided to inaugurate 10 Wellness centers in Jharkhand, as a part of his scheme.

Target of the scheme

The PM health scheme will target poor and deprived rural families as well as the identified occupational category of urban workers’ families. As per the latest Socio-Economic Caste Census,80.3 million in rural and 23.3 million in urban areas will get the benefit. It will cover around 50 crore people in total. As of now, 14 states have finalized their memoranda of understanding with the center.

There are two models under this scheme. Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Telangana, and Chandigarh are the states that will use a trust model for the Scheme. In a trust model, bills reimburse directly by the government. Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have opted for mixed mode implementation. Not to mention, in an insurance model, the government pays a fixed premium to an insurance company, which pays the hospitals.

Furthermore, the PM Health Scheme would be a role model for all further health schemes around the world. Together with other health policies, this scheme would strengthen the health services in India. In the long run, this scheme will improve the health condition of people.
