Premier League 2020: Wolverhampton wanderers came back from consecutive defeats with a victory through goals from Raul Jimenez, Dendoncker and Diogo Jota and sealed the match with 15 minutes to spare against Everton.
The Mexican, Jimenez opened the score sheet for the host from a penalty kick just at the end of the first half after a silly challenge from Lucas Digne on Daniel Podence. The lead was extended just minutes after the break when Leander Dendoncker headed the ball sublimely past Jordan Pickford. Diogo Jota sealed off the victory for the Wanderers after finishing the ball with superb speed behind the net with fifteen minutes still to go.
The win takes Wolves up to sixth place in Premier League 2020, just three points behind Manchester United, and they hope for getting a place in Europe’s top club competition next season.
Wolves had a fine form running before losing two consecutive games against Arsenal and Sheffield United, who are also in the race for grabbing the European competition spot.
Jordan Pickford was forced to make two brilliant saves from the edge of the box before Podence calmly turned and forced Digne to make an unforced error inside the penalty box.
Jimenez was as usual very patient while taking the spot kick, which makes him involved with 35 Premier league goals this season, leaving only Mohhamed Salah with the same number of goals and assists.
Just after half-time, a well delivered freekick from Pedro Neto was converted by a supreme header from Leander Dendoncker.

An exquisite lofted ball from Ruben Neves got Diogo Jota clear from his defenders, who then sublimely finished off the match to confirm the victory. Adama Traore could have extended the lead more but his effort went in vain after the ball hit the woodwork.
Everton top scorer, Richarlison had little impact on the game and was substituted right after the hour mark. The Toffees midfield clearly did not make an impact, failing to bridge the gap between defense and attack and also could not provide adequate shield for opposition attacks.
The closest they came was when Lucas Digne powered the ball towards the far post but it only flew over the bar in the second half. There was more bad news for Everton coach, Ancelotti, when world class defender, Yerry Mina limped off the pitch in the first half with a thigh injury.
Up next, Wolves face Burnely at Turf Moor and Everton faces Aston Villa at home.
