Life Journey Of Shri Sindhutai Sapkal
Sindhutai Sapkal was born in the Wardha district of Maharashtra. Since her parents did not feel privileged after her birth all the freedom of her as a child was not given. She was married at a very early age of 12 to a man 20 years elder than her. Such a huge difference can never account for a happy marriage. So she was discarded by her husband at the age of 20 when she was 9 months pregnant with her fourth child.
The quality of working for society resided in her heart and reflected in her attitude since she was a child. After marriage, she continued to do so. But her steps taken towards the right and against the wrong, never suited to the people who were on the wrong track. And the only way to tackle the situation was to make Sindhutai weak. And this led the haters to spread nuisance about the lady which when eventually heard by her husband. Led to the burst of her husband’s anger and Sindhutai was then trashed out of the house. The same night she gave birth to a baby. And left the place. She kept begging for the grains to feed herself so that she could feed her newborn. Such a merciful condition broke the lady and she decided to end her life.

But eventually, she realized that like her there must be hundreds and thousands of ladies and children residing in the same condition. That eventually brought her down to a decision of serving all the orphans and being the mother of all the homeless. This is how her journey began. And to maintain the sense of equality. She gave her child to the orphanage, so that her feelings remain same for every children present.

Achievements Of Sindhutai Sapkal
In her entire life, she has nurtured over 1500 children and this is the all-time biggest achievement. Her noble work led her to receive the Padma Shri award in 2021 in the category of Social work. And many more such awards during her entire life.
