However, misfortune has now struck and the South Indian state has been hit by a massive flood. It is true that man has no control once the elements of nature take over. The disaster is such that all the Chief Minister of the state could do was make an appeal to the citizens of the nation to come forward and help. What you need to note here is that the pleas have actually worked and top stars have also come forward to help the state, both emotionally as well as financially.

Mollywood Actors donate money

Celebrities are literally the ideal figures for innumerable in India. And, it is acts of goodness like these that totally justify this fan following. Actor Vijay Deverakonda has donated a huge sum of 5 lakhs rupees to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. He has also taken this opportunity to get in touch with his fans and reach out to them with the sole message that they too should come forward and do all that they can do. The donations are welcome even in the smallest of amounts area is affordable for the fans. While Twitter is a social networking site that has often been used by stars to make statements about their films, Vijay Deverakonda tweeted that he has often received work from Kerala and it was also the first-holiday destination. Further, he continued with his message.

Actor Kamal Hassan contributed 25 Lakhs

On the other hand, there are also superstars who have made donations but have not felt the need to gain any publicity out of it. One such star is actor Kamal Haasan. He has donated a whopping portion of 25 lakhs. Though he actually made no public statement about it on his social media handles, the news was confirmed by the official Facebook page of the state’s Chief Minister. Actors Suriya and Karthi also followed the example and announced that they too will be donating 25 lakhs. Last but not the least, the Association of Malayalam Movies Artists (AMMA) has also donated 10 lakh rupees. Other actors who have pitched in are Mohanlal and Mammootty to name a few.

Till now, Kerala has suffered a massive loss of lives as well as properties. According to reports, more than 60,000 people have been rendered homeless and the death toll is also on the rise. In fact, the plantations in the state have also lost utility at the present moment because of the floods. It seems to be like a large expanse of just swampy marshes that are not good for living or vegetation. The Indian Army is at work and has been working relentlessly.
