According to users’ complaints, a really strange thing happened on this Friday (October 11th) when the Facebook owned messaging application went missing from the android application downloading platform- Google Play store.
“Users are now reporting that the Facebook-owned instant chat messengers app no longer appearing on the Google Play Store search results” MSPoweruser reported.
This means, that people who were trying to install the messaging application- WhatsApp for the first time on Friday were not able to download it from Google Play Store as it did not appear in the search. Anyways if you had already downloaded the application and are using it, then there was no problem. Even in the ‘previously installed apps’ section, WhatsApp was visible. Also, the WhatsApp for Business was still available for download.
If WhatsApp is in the ‘previously installed apps’ that means that the application was not removed by Google and did not blacklist it either. Therefore the problem arouse due to some other technical issue which is not cleared as of now. And then came back when the play store took care of the incident. These glitches have been seen earliar with other apps but not bacame a issue but this time the issue rose as whatsapp is a very popular social media platform.
