Bollywood Actor Rishi Kapoor Dies at the Age of 67

It is very shocking news to know that veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away at 67. The Bollywood industry again lost a gem today. He gave Bollywood the best super hit films and had a lot of fan following. He left every one of us this morning in a Mumbai hospital on Thursday morning.



Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2018 and his treatment started the same year and he went to New York for his treatment and he returned back in the year 2019 after completing his treatment. He was having a tough time and serious health issues, no one imagined that he would face this and we will lose him.

The Bollywood actor gave many hit Bollywood films to the Bollywood industry and remained determined and focused on his film career. During his critical time, everyone including his family and friends was there to support him.

He was a person with a gem of hearts and was known for his versatile acting. Today every one of us will realize what we have lost. The year 2020 is not going well with a lot of people. Many bad things happened this year. Yesterday great Bollywood Actor Irrfan Khan passed away and this morning Rishi Kapoor Sir left us.

  • Rishi Kapoor gave many Bollywood blockbusters and did his first Debut film in Mera Naam Joker as Raaju (1970) and got a lot of love for his character in the movie. Everyone would compare him with Raj Kapoor Sir and praised his acting.
  • He even got praised for his blockbuster movie Bobby(1973) where he was a lead actor opposite Dimple Kapadia and he got to be known as the most Romantic Hero in Bollywood.
  • Laila Majnu (1976) was another fantastic blockbuster movie by Rishi Kapoor where he played the role of Majnu and gained immense popularity after that.
  • Do Dooni Chaar (2010) This movie will always be remembered as Rishi Kapoor shared the screen with his wife Neetu Kapoor and their on-screen chemistry was amazing.
  • Kapoor and Sons (2016) Who can forget this movie? Rishi played the role of the grandfather who wishes to keep his family happy and together. He did a fantastic job in his role
  • 102 Not Out (2018) He shared the screen with Big B and played the role of his son. The movie was directed around a father-son relationship and all the challenges they face in life.

2016 – He got the Screen Lifetime Achievement Award

2017 – Rishi won the Screen Award for Best Supporting Actor for Kapoor & Sons

Shree Amitabh Bachchan tweeted this morning about Mr. Rishi Kapoor’s demise, he expressed his feelings by sharing this tweet. He felt like he was destroyed and couldn’t take this sad news.

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar also expressed his feelings and tweeted It feels like a nightmare. Rishi Sir was a legend more power to his friends and family.


Ritesh Deshmukh tweeted The King of Charm, King of Romance left us today. It is really heartbreaking for all of us. It is not fair you left us, not fair.

Rishi Kapoor was a great man and had an amazing fan following, he was known for his jolly nature amongst all the Kapoor’s in the Kapoor family. Today his family would be in such pain they would need all our prayers to get out of this sad situation. More power to his family and fans! RIP Rishi Sir, You will be missed!
