Eyes are numb, hearts are heavy as it is extremely difficult to bid adieu to this great personality. Lata Mangeshkar daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar and Shevanti Mangeshkar was born in the city of Indore. At a very early age of 13, Lata Mangeshkar lost her first teacher, her father. And since then the responsibility of looking after the family was on her shoulder which significantly drove her into the music world a bit early.

Ever since the journey began there was no looking back. She became one of the finest singers in the nation. Who holds a record of singing songs in 36 Indian and a few foreign languages. Her voice has been a part of more than a thousand movies making her one of the fondest singers of the Bollywood industry.

Lata Ji was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital early in the month of January when she was detected Covid positive. Later she caught Pneumonia. After a series of violent treatments, she was put on ventilators after her condition started to deteriorate. After battling hard she peacefully took her last breathe on 6th February 2022 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to multiple organ failures.

PM Narendra Modi condoled her death by saying “Coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerize people.”

He continued his tweet by further adding “Lata Didi’s songs brought out a variety of emotions. She closely witnessed the transitions of the Indian film world for decades. Beyond films, she was always passionate about India’s growth. She always wanted to see a strong and developed India.”

Further continued “The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled.”

“I am anguished beyond words,” he further added.
