Sarojni Naidu well know as “The Nightingale of India”. Her well crafted art of poetry studded with impactful and powerful words got het this title. To join hands to retain India’s freedom Ms. Naidu got together with the Indian National Congress. That was primarily designed to unitedly stand againt the British Governement. And post joining she became the party’s first woman president.

Savitribai Phule

Not just thestruggle to freedom, we have freedom fighters woman of India that stood against all the evil laws of society that restricted education of girl child. She worked hard and put in her every ounce to educate the backward class and girls as she believed that empowernment through education is the full proof way to get above all the prevailing social discrimination.

Mahadevi Verma

A renowed poet, poetries of whom we have been hearing in schools since childhood. Mahadevi Verma was a great freedom fighter who followed the Gandhian laws of peace and non-violence to attain freedom. She was a great educationist and vice-chancellor of Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth. She believed that education and literary work has enough power to attain freedom from all the evil.

Capt Laxmi Sehgal

Name not herd often but her contribution to the fredom struggle can not be avoided. Capt. Laxmi Seghal was a doctor by profession. After completion of her course she and her entire family decided to contribute in India’s freedom struggle. She collaborated with Netaji Subahsh Chandra bose to create and lead the first women regiment Indian National army.

Basanti Devi

Her fierce attitude that revoke after her husband got arrested by the British Governement. The fire was so great that she joined all the movements that were hels against the Brittish Government be it the Non-cooperation movement, Civil Disobedience movement, Khilafat Movement, or else. Active participation and an attitude of her’s to free India led him to the bars and became first women to get court arrest.

Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay

Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay was the first female to promote the Indian crafts that were then highlihgted to be used against the British produce. Through theartres and physical presnce in various freedom movements she gained utter faome as a great freedom fighter.

Every year the Republic Day celebrations use to begin from the 24th of January but this year the date has changed to 23rd January including the birth anniversary of a great freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.

History Of This Day

After India attained freedom on 15th August 1947, the first move to construct the constitution of India came into action on 27th August 1947. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar appointed the chairman of the committee set up to structure the constitution. The first draft of the constitution was completed and presented on November 4, 1947. But it took a total of 11 sessions to finally form a well-defined framework for the working of Indian laws and systems smoothly.

After the creation of the Constitution of India it was signed by 308 members of the assembly on 24th January 1950. The adoption and amendment of the constitution proceeded two days later i.e 26th January 1950.
