And here we have another star kid who is all set to debut in Bollywood. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to launch Anmol Thakeria, the son of veteran Bollywood actor Poonam Dhillon and producer Ashok Thakeria.
The filmmaker is planning to give a launch pad to the star kid through his latest movie. The movie is tentatively titled as ‘Tuesdays and Fridays’.
Rumour or the truth?
There are talks doing the rounds in the industry that the project was earlier offered to Shahid Kapoor. It was later shifted over to Anmol Thakeria after Shahid Kapoor rejected the project. However, a source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali protested against this comment and said, “Shahid Kapoor was never offered this film. How can a project designed for a debutant be offered to an actor who has done 30 films?
The film that Bhansali is making with Anmol is a fresh subject about young love. “It was always meant to star newcomers.” So now it seems, these were really anything but rumours.
SLB’s other star-kid launches
This isn’t the first time for Sanjay Leela Bhansali to be making a movie with newcomers in the lead. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had earlier, in 2007 launched Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor in the movie Saawariya. Though the film had not proven to be a great hit and can very well be said as a flop, it definitely proved to be a great launch pad for the two star kids.

Hadwale. It is said by a source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali that the debut film of the filmmaker’s niece will be completed first. “The Mizaan-Sharmin launch film is more than fifty per cent ready. Sanjay also intends to launch Vinod Khanna’s youngest son in the near future.”

Reports reveal that veteran Bollywood actor Poonam Dhillon has confirmed the news and is quite happy with his son’s debut and believes it to be the best debut for his son.
She said, “I am of course very excited about it because it’s something he was working towards. Yes, as a mom, I am very happy.” She further added, “I think it’s one of the best debuts that he could have asked for. He is very happy and chilled about. I would say that he got this on his merit as I had no say or connection in it. We are completely focused on his Bollywood debut right now and both of us are very excited about it.”
Poonam can currently be seen working in TV projects and occasional films. Her last film was in 2014, ‘Double Di Trouble’. She is currently working on a TV show titled ‘Dil Hi Toh Hai’. Ashok Thakeria has produced numerous films. Some of them include ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Raja’, ‘Masti’, ‘Dil’ and ‘Beta’.

According to reports, the film’s shoot had already begun in London. However, the leading lady is not decided yet. It seems Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning to launch the
actors with a big announcement soon. It is believed that the filmmaker will be joining hands with T-series for the project.
This project sounds quite interesting and we’ll be surely awaiting its release. The debuts these days are very much interesting and the films do great in Box-office. We can base this fact on the wonderful performances of ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Dhadak’.
