It was being said that Shahid Kapoor and his brother Ishaan will be sharing the screen in a Dharma Productions film. This was going to be Ishaan’s second movie (after Dhadak) with the famous production house whereas it would have been the first time Shahid would have worked with them.
Shahid Kapoor clarifies the rumour
He was interacting with the media during the trailer launch of the movie along with his co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Divyendu Sharma, director Shree Narayan Singh along with the producer Bhushan Kumar. When asked about his opinion on the film he claimed that he doesn’t think that the film isn’t a mainstream film.
According to him it is unarguably a mainstream film. He thinks that the issues don’t turn a film non-mainstream. He believes that that the take on the issue turns a film non-mainstream. In case, the film had a serious title then its tone might have been different. This means that the reach would have been somewhat limited. He feels that if somebody wants to say something good then it needs to a larger audience to listen to. He believes that is the talent of Shree (Narayan Singh) Sir. The title of his earlier film included the word ‘toilet’ which probably put off people. Still it managed to reach a huge audience.
Anytime else but not now
He praised the director by saying that the way he tells his story is like a commercial film. He believes that the title for the film is quirky and the film is full of humour and fun. “In between all that, wherever we have got chance to give a message we have given the message about the issue,” he said.
He also talked about the importance of this movie in India, saying that it talks about the issue of electricity. As we know it is a basic human right in our country. There are almost 31 million homes in India without electricity. Everyone must have experienced a rise in the amount of bills after privatisation of electricity. This makes the issue relevant. He believes that the metro cities such as Mumbai don’t need to deal with issues related to electricity. On visiting the interior parts of the country on can realise how important this issue for the commoners.
Shut down the rumours
On being asked about the rumors of him working alongside his brother, Shahid Kapoor quickly dismissed these rumours, he said, “No, we have not received any such offer. Nor have we signed any films together.”
Shahid’s brother Ishaan along with Janhvi Kapoor in the love story, Dhadhak have found a huge success as the movie became the biggest opener featuring the debutants. It seems that the fresh romance in the film directed by Shashank Khaitan. “We are delighted that ‘Dhadak’ has opened to a terrific Day 1 number,” says Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Dharma Productions.
It means even though both the brothers are getting a lot of praise for their work, it would be quite some time before we will be seeing them together on the big screen.
